ldren Save the Day

When Children Save the Day offers standards-based programs to build language arts skills and service learning experiences through active, real life opportunities.

To engage and empower young people our programs:

  • Use a Language Arts Curriculum based on National Standards. It includes opportunities for reading, writing and oral language development.
  • Offer a variety of activities to engage different learning styles. This means all students are included.
  • Invite students to act as stakeholders: They make decisions about program activities and outcomes.
  • Enable students to set their own goals.
  • Encourage community relationships: From school to home to neighborhoods to international communities.

Our curriculum and classroom practice strive to be:

  • Grounded in the lives of our students
  • Multicultural, anti-racist, pro-justice
  • Participatory and experiential
  • Hopeful, joyful, kind, visionary
  • Activist
  • Academically rigorous
